North Country Sunset

The sun came out briefly late yesterday afternoon, so I headed out to see if I could snap some photos from my favorite place, Ridge Road.  There are photos taken from along the ridge in one of my photo albums, but I’ve never taken any during the Winter.  Sun is a rare occurrence in the Winter here, so I was happy to be able to capture a few photos of the sun making her glorious descent.

I made it to the top of the ridge just in time before she hid behind the horizon.

As I headed down the ridge, the sun had set but  had still left her beautiful artwork behind for a few more brief moments.

Most of the river is frozen except where the rapids continue to keep the water flowing.

Finally, heading down the last hill, a few more photo opportunities were waiting for me.

My favorite!

I hope you enjoyed your journey taking in the last light of day and God’s masterpieces.

Hi Rhonda.Lovely pictures. Snow does make a beautiful landscape particularly with a setting sun. I am not an envious person but I am turning a pale shade of green, you Live among such lovely countryside. Thank you for sharing. I notice though that your roads are clear. Here in England we are having SNOW. We rarely see it in such large amounts but it is eighteen years since we had so much especially in the South. Transport is suffering, roads are closed and people are sometimes trapped in their cars. One local authority has brought it\’s snowploughs out of mothballs after twenty years and we are fast running out of grit for our roads. Where I live is often referred to as the frozen north but we have not had very little snow as yet. So enjoy YOUR SNOW.Best Wishes. Ossie.

Wonderful snapshots. I love sunsets, especially on the beach or over a lake. Then again, I do like a good sunrise… because it\’s a start of another day.
