A Different Perspective

I AM THANKFUL:

         FOR THE WIFE

WHO SAYS IT’S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,

BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,

AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE HUSBAND

WHO IS ON THE SOFA

BEING A COUCH POTATO,

BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME

AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER

WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES

BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY

BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM EMPLOYED .

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY

BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG

BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK

BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,

WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,

AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING

BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME .

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING

I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT

BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

FOR THE PARKING SPOT

I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT

BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION .

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL

BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH WHO SINGS OFF KEY

BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING

BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES AT THE END OF THE DAY

BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF

IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS

BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.

AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL

BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.

Live well, Laugh often, & Love with all of your heart!

I agree with some and the rest means we are not all the same and that\’s what makes life interesting. Hugs for Emma. I hope you get home for a visit soon. I know you need it as much as i do.

True…true. Often I have to stop myself and remember what to be thankful for! I am thankful to be overwhelmed at work…because this means I have a job!!I am thankful that I work so I can afford to go buy my Jack, which I am thankful for, because I am stressed out at work and with my children…that I am thankful for because they stress me out. But I wouldnt have it any other way! Does this make sense??

I\’m greatful for stinky underwear cuz I know I have to change right away! lol! So true Rhonda! All these complaints we have give rise to inventions that solve our problems. As petty and pampered we seem to be now, I\’m sure if we went back to the dark ages (1953), we\’d complain about that too… Who said: \’You don\’t know what you\’ve got until you loose it?\’ Don\’t think it was John Lennon. he just reminded us. Smart man though. Great blogging here Rhonda! Thankyou!:Q xxx

You had me right up until the Email bit. I get too much Email as well but most of it\’s not from friends. It\’s from scammers promising me sudden wealth or offering me viagra. Hang on….you\’re right. It means I\’ve got enough common sense to recognise con artists when they call! Yes, the world is good.

As we walk on this journey, all of our senses be working. Yes, we moan and groan and speak of our hardships; until we meet someone who cries "I don\’t want to die, please let me live"…..we sometimes forget to laugh and what you have written is funny and serious at the same time. So much like the human animal, to think of the things we do not have, as we pass by the things we do.Peace to YouMark
